PU coatings allow the garment to be breathable and waterproof. How can that be? Moisture molecules are smaller than water molecules. Based on this, the pores of the PU coating on the outer fabric allow the smaller moisture molecules to distinguish to the outside through its pores, which makes the garment breathable. The water molecules, on the other hand, are larger than the PU pores of the PU coating and make the garment water resistant and waterproof.
